Dubbo Taxi Co-Operative Limited
The Dubbo Taxi Service has evolved over the years from a number of individuals with Taxi plates issued to servicemen after both World Wars and continued on through to the seventies when the NSW government decided to regulate the taxi industry.
Since then the industry has grown with the development of the city and today the Dubbo Taxi Service is still operated by independent owners of taxi plates in the City of Dubbo and is a fully regulated public transport industry that is overseen by the Dubbo Taxi Co-Operative Limited who is responsible for the orderly dispatch of taxi bookings via the computerised dispatch system, presentation and discipline of vehicles and drivers and the resolution of disputes that may occur between drivers and the public.
The Dubbo Taxi fleet has 22 operating vehicles with 4 of these being wheelchair accessible vehicles and operates a 24 hour service in Dubbo and its surrounds. This fleet is serviced by the Country Taxi Call Centre based in Orange and the Dubbo Co-Operative is an equal owner in partnership with the Orange and Bathurst Co-Operatives.
Each Co-Operative has their own boards of management and the Country Taxi Call Centre has a board made up of representatives from each Co-Operative.
